Lucknow: The district malaria officer in Unnao, Ramesh Chandra Yadav, was caught in the act by the vigilance team receiving a bribe of Rs 10,000 on Monday. The incident unfolded after a biologist working in the filariasis control unit in Unnao, KK Gupta, lodged a written complaint accusing Yadav of demanding the bribe to approve his medical leave. Acting on Gupta's complaint, the senior superintendent of police and the UP vigilance team verified the allegations. Yadav accepted the money from Gupta at the district malaria office in Unnao on the day of the incident and was promptly apprehended by the vigilance team. The recovered cash has been seized as evidence in the case registered against Yadav at the UP vigilance station in Lucknow.
